Wins, Losses, and the Road Ahead in Texas House

    By Texas Family Project

As the clock struck midnight on Thursday, the Texas House reached the critical deadline to pass House Bills over to the Texas Senate—a huge deadline that marks a turning point each legislative session. This year it came with triumphs and frustrations.

Unfortunately, due to the House leadership’s delayed start—taking far too long to assign committees and begin hearings—a significant amount of meaningful, conservative legislation never made it to the House floor.  This tactic, commonly referred to as “running out the clock,” is a well-known method in Austin to quietly kill bills without putting members on the record. And this session, this strategy claimed many strong bills.

Thankfully, this was one of the most publicized legislative sessions ever. This allowed Texas voters to gain insight into these deceptive practices.

How legacy media for years worked to suppress the fact Christians are being martyred

    By Bob Unruh – WND.com

Only weeks ago, Fox News reported that as the genocide by Muslims against Christians in Nigeria was continuing, there was concern the nation’s Christians “are being wiped out.”

The report said the Islamists are intent “on creating a Muslim caliphate” and have been killing Christians wantonly for years already.

“Nigeria’s Christians are being wiped out; we need to call it what it is — genocide,” explained Jeff King of International Christian Concern.

In one slaughter just weeks ago, a Muslim attack on Christians in the Plateau State’s Bokkos County left more than 60 Christians dead.

And 383 homes belonging to Christians were torched.

Lankford pushes Congress to pass immigration bill to make border security permanent

By Anna Giaritelli – Washington Examiner

Lankford, one of three co-authors who spent months in late 2023 drafting a bipartisan border bill that ultimately failed to make it through the Senate, said legal challenges in court are part of the reason that Republicans in Congress ought to be thinking now about legislation, during an interview with the Washington Examiner.

“There will be a need for some legislation,” Lankford told the Washington Examiner during a phone call. “Right now, there’s not a need for it. I think once the court makes some rulings, then we’ll see what authorities are still needed to be able to make clear so that no one has to question again the power of the president to be able to protect the nation.

Lankford said regardless of how the courts rule in the more than 50 immigration-related lawsuits that plaintiffs have brought against the Trump administration since Jan. 20, concrete plans will need to be put into place to ensure the border does not see the millions of illegal crossings that it did under President Joe Biden.

Trump to Sign Orders to Block DEI-Based School Discipline

By Nick Gilbertson – Breitbart News

WASHINGTON–The executive orders President Donald Trump is set to sign on Wednesday include an order to ensure school discipline policies are not based on DEI and an order restricting the use of disparate-impact liability legal theory, Breitbart News has learned.

A White House document provided to Breitbart News states that Trump’s expected education order aims to bolster classroom safety and order by ensuring disciplinary policies are based on a student’s behavior rather than “DEI” policy.

“The Order requires new guidance to local and state educational agencies regarding school discipline, emphasizing compliance with Title VI protections against racial discrimination and preferencing,” the document notes.

Supreme Court Backs Trump on Alien Enemies Act Removals

By R. Cort Kirkwood April 8, 2025 – New American

The U.S. Supreme Court has vacated a district court’s order to stop deporting illegal-alien Venezuelan criminals and terrorists under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.

The high court ruled 5-4 yesterday that federal Judge James Boasberg, of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., erred in blocking the Trump administration from deporting five detainees. The detainees sued the administration on the wrong grounds, the court ruled, which in turn meant they sued in the wrong district.

The court also ruled that the administration must notify the criminals before they are deported.

The ruling means that the administration can again begin deporting the savage Venezuelans who, as members of the vicious Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang, are responsible for rapes, murders, and other crimes nationwide.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin Launches Largest Deregulatory Effort in U.S. History to ‘Save Coal, Bring Down Cost of Living’

    by Olivia Rondeau – Breitbart.com

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin said it is “not a binary choice” to either protect the environment or grow the economy.

“We don’t have to just choose one,” he explained.

Joining Breitbart News Washington bureau chief Matt Boyle on the Breitbart News Saturday radio show, Zeldin went over his recent historic launch of the largest deregulatory effort in U.S. history and talked about the EPA’s sweeping deregulations to “save the coal industry” and “bring down the cost of living.”

After announcing 31 deregulations on Wednesday, including the termination of the Biden administration’s “Environmental Justice and DEI arms of the agency (EJ/DEI),” Zeldin told Boyle, “Undoubtedly, we’re going to be able to create jobs, including inside the American auto sector.”

“We will bring down the cost of living. It’s going to be easier to heat your home, to purchase a vehicle, to operate a business,” the former New York congressman said, touting President Donald Trump’s economic plan.
