The leaders of President-elect Donald Trump’s proposed Department of Government Efficiency have indicated that funding for the nation’s largest abortion provider may be on the chopping block as they seek to make drastic reductions to government spending.

Billionaire Elon Musk and former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy discussed their plans as Trump put them in charge of the new department in an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal published Wednesday.

Stressing that they intend to serve as “outside volunteers, not federal officials or employees,” Musk and Ramaswamy highlighted their plans to assist “the Trump transition team to identify and hire a lean team of small-government crusaders, including some of the sharpest technical and legal minds in America.”

Former President Donald John Trump is the winner of the 2024 presidential election, and will become the first person to win back the Oval Office after losing a reelection bid since Democrat Grover Cleveland in 1892.

Trump — the 45th and soon-to-be 47th president — secured a path to a 270-vote threshold in the Electoral College with a victory in Pennsylvania, one of the “blue wall” states he won in 2016, and where he campaigned vigorously throughout the campaign.

Vice President Kamala Harris turned in a strong showing among female voters. But she underperformed among urban voters and young voters that she needed to turn out to hold off the red tide outside the big blue cities.

Ballots were still being counted as of early Wednesday morning, and final results will not be known in several states for hours, days, or even weeks. The battle for control of Congress was still undecided: Republicans won control of the Senate, but control of the House still awaited results in close California congressional races.

Joe Biden is stumbling in the final months of his failed presidency. To some extent, many saw this coming—he’s been the king of gaffes his entire career in public life. Now, he’s forced to damage control, and so does Kamala Harris. No doubt, the vice president’s advisers flipped over tables when Biden said that Trump supporters were garbage. He also said this during Kamala’s DC rally last week, which should have been an earned media moment. Instead, it’s all about Biden and his remarks.

It’s a public relations disaster, and one that reconfirmed Democrats as snobby and condescending. Right now, it essentially led to Biden being canceled by the Democrats. He was slated to be on a few campagna calls—these got nixed:

“I don’t understand how we got so toxic and just so divided and so bitter,” former President Barack Obama lamented at a campaign event last week in a display of pretend innocence so shameless that it may provoke an instant chuckle.

It was you, Mr. President. You did this to us.

It’s worth a quick review of the record. The case is easy to make, but don’t take the word of a conservative writer. Both Pew Research and Gallup tracked how people felt about race relations before Obama’s presidency, during, and after. Both polling firms affirm that Obama took us from a peak of good feeling into a nadir.

In the case of Pew, it demonstrated that a peak of 66% of Americans viewed relations between the races as good the day Obama took office in January 2009, which tumbled to 38% in December 2017. Gallup showed Obama had this effect on both black and white people.

If you’ve been paying attention to the news, you’re probably aware that we are in perhaps the dumbest, most absurd outrage cycle since Donald Trump came down the golden escalator. What led to this new level of consternation among the chattering class? Did another indictment come down? Did he shout a racist epithet while shooting someone on Fifth Avenue?

No, it was nothing like that. Instead, and you may want to sit down for this, Trump visited a McDonald’s.

I know it sounds mundane, but rest assured it was an incredibly awful “stunt” the likes of which the political world has never seen. Fire-fighting journalists have spent every waking second since he dunked some fries and handed out a few Happy Meals to alert the public that the scene was “staged” and a show of intense manipulation.

Newsweek even went so far as to try to get the McDonald’s location he appeared at canceled. No, I’m not kidding. They dug up some health code violations to show just how evil this specific restaurant is.

My first two thoughts when I saw this report: Who’d a thunk it? Why is CNN suddenly throwing Minnesota governor and Kamala Harris’s running mate Tim Walz under the bus?

We’re talking way under the bus.

The “CNN Investigates” report blisters Walz from beginning to end, starting with the headline: “As fraud scandals erupt in Minnesota on Gov. Tim Walz’s watch, accountability is in short supply.”

Beginning with a damning state audit, CNN reported (emphasis, mine):

One state audit found that bonus checks intended for frontline workers during the pandemic were handed out to undeserving recipients. Another criticized a Minnesota state agency for failing to ensure there were no conflicts of interest in taxpayer-funded mental health and addiction programs. A third detailed lax oversight of a program to feed needy kids which federal prosecutors say resulted in the nation’s largest Covid-era fraud scheme.

Moreover, Minnesota’s nonpartisan auditor, Judy Randall, told CNN that some state agencies working under Walz’s administration, when confronted with “these and other troubling examples of waste, fraud, and abuse,” repeatedly minimized or dismissed the allegations. How “Tim Walz” of them.
